Before TestView, if a teacher wondered why one of his students was falling behind, he had to take personal time outside of the classroom to visit the main office and thumb through student files. He might make an appointment with the principal or a guidance counselor to assist him in making a determination.
After TestView, a teacher can sit at his desk in the classroom and look at multiple factors to better understand each student, then quickly formulate a plan of action. The teacher can look at historical records for the student in TestView and determine from previous test scores whether or not the issue of falling behind is due to lack of motivation or effort, or inability. Empowered with this knowledge it is easier to analyze the problem and ask for the appropriate help as needed.
