WHAT'S NEW?

TestView Surpasses 200,000 Students
TestView adoption among school districts is growing rapidly. More than 200,000 students are now being analyzed and tracked with the award-winning software. This number continues to grow as more districts hear the news and decide to take advantage of this easy-to-use tool.

Georgia Pilot Program
VC3 has announced its plans for the TestView Georgia Pilot Program. The program will incorporate up to 10 districts desiring to implement a software tool that enables data driven decisions at the classroom, school, and district levels.
(For details, see TestView Newsroom)

TestView on the National Scene
TestView's visibility is on the rise across the country, with appearances at several conferences in recent months. In November, VC3 presented "Analyzing Performance Data for Assessment and Data Driven Decisions" at GaETC in Macon, GA. Then in January, we participated in the Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC) in Orlando. Most recently, we participated in the American Association of School Administrators National Conference (AASA) in San Antonio, TX.

VC3 plans to participate in the following upcoming conferences. We look forward to seeing you there!

  • SCASA Summer Leadership Institute (June)
  • Superintendents' Summer Conference (July)
  • South Carolina EdTech (September)

USER TIPS

Be sure you get the latest TestView software updates.

TestView 3.6 provides a new feature that allows you to specify how and when you receive software updates. We recommend enabling the automatic installation so that you're always on the latest TestView version. Here's how:

  1. On the SYSADMIN screen, click the Updates link. The Updates screen will appear as follows:

  2. Enter one or more email addresses to receive notification when an update becomes available. The email notification will include release notes detailing the contents of the update.

  3. Be sure that the Automatic Scheduling checkbox is checked.

  4. Enter the time and days of the week to designate the days on which installation can be performed.

  5. If you wish you can specify a delay before the installation is performed. This will give you time to read the release notes or ensure you are ready for the update. Enter the number of weekdays to allow for your review. In the example above, if an update notification is received at 3:00 PM on Friday, TestView will wait one weekday before installing; thus, the installation will occur at 7:30 PM on Monday. If you want the installation to occur without a review period, enter "0" days for review.

  6. Click Save.

WHAT'S COMING UP?

We have had conversations with some of you about new features we're planning for the summer 2005 timeframe, to be available prior to the fall term. Our current plans include the following enhancements:

  1. Security: TestView will allow districts to configure different levels of access for different groups of users. For example, you may wish to limit your teachers' access to only students in their school.

  2. Reporting: A number of enhancements will be made, including:
    • Additional information displayed, and new filters.
    • Addition of certain pre-defined reports.

  3. Enhanced Student Test Scores screen, including display of off-grade-level PACT scores and sorting by either test type or subject.

  4. Academic Plans: A number of changes will be made, including the ability to:
    • Generate academic plans based on criteria defined by the school district. For example, if you wish to automatically generate academic plans based on specific HSAP or Cogat scores, you may do so.
    • Specify the consequences of each Academic Plan and report on these.
    • Further customize the default academic plans.

  5. Support for the PLAN test.

  6. Other changes and improvements based on customer feedback.
