The TestView Users Group meeting was held in Columbia, SC on July 21, 2005.  Users and invited guests were able to see the new features and functions of version 4.0 set for general release on August 1.

New Features & Enhancements

Classroom Tasks

• Test Score enhancements
• Student Tests Scores page sorted by type with drill down to detail
• Enhanced detail view with graph comparing student score to school and district
• Additional details imported from PACT
• Grade level tested 
• Off-grade level indication
• Additional details imported from MAP
• Goal strands (i.e. Language: Language conventions, capitalization, composing, composition structure, punctuation)
• Removed the grade level designation associated with each test (i.e. PACT(03)) and replaced with “Administration” that can be selected separately.
• Added support for the PLAN test

Student Groups

• TestView will automatically create a student group for every teacher’s class (dynamically updated).
• “My Students with Academic Plans” group will show academic plan subjects

Student Search

• Limit of 100 matches removed (all students that match are listed, paginated in groups of 20)

Transcript page:  Each course listed has a new “View” link that will show all the students on that class roster.

Security

• TestView may restrict viewing certain information such as SSN, GPA or Free/Reduced Lunch status, depending upon your district’s preferences. 
• You may be restricted to viewing students only in your school, or in your classes, depending upon your district’s preferences.

Reporting features

• Ability to share reports with others (individuals or groups based on roles)
• Ability to enter criteria at the time you run the report (parameterized reporting)
• Re-designed report creation process
• Ability to define what columns appear in a report
• New AYP report

District Tasks

Academic Plans

• Test score projections – the projections graph has been changed to a bar-line graph hybrid for readability. Projections data has also been updated to reflect the most recent NWEA projections.
• Custom batch creation – Plans will be able to be created in bulk based on user-defined criteria. 
• Bulk deletion – Plans will be able to be deleted in bulk to simplify plan management.
• Curriculum goals – Will not appear on plan if they are blank.
• Status tracking – to support new SDE requirements for academic plans
• Status, end of year consequence, and end of summer school consequence will be tracked for each subject area.
• District can set default initial status for plans generated in a batch.
• For second year plans, (applicable for 2006-2007 plans) a plan can be generated for those students whose end-of-year/summer school consequence was set to Retained or other values defined by district.

Enhanced import process

• TestView displays name of import file & administration.
• TestView will automatically detect the layout of the import file if possible.

Improved import matching scheme affecting exceptions

• Student not verified exception
• No more “invalid grade level” exception
• Invalid date exception
• Additional information provided to help match exceptions
  

SysAdmin Tasks

Security Roles
Pre-defined security roles for:

• Teacher
• System Administrator
• District Administrator
• School Administrator
• No Access (optional for default / first time login)
• Ability to define your own security roles

Configurable security zone for each role, where the user in this role can access students in the following zones:

• District (all students – same as in TestView 3.6)
• Current school (all students currently attending your school)
• Current students (for teachers, this year’s rosters only)
• Recent students (for teachers, this year’s & previous year’s rosters)
• Configurable task permissions for each role, including ability to hide SSN, Free/reduced lunch status & GPA for specified role).
